The Wakka Wakka is the latest addition to our range of trailers with a unique design, offering you a fantastic alternative to the large off road caravans.
The Wakka is essentially a trailer in size and weight but it opens up to allow you access to interior living space off the ground. Ideal for 2 persons with the option of 2 additional single beds. The interior space is roomy with access to 2 comfortable cushioned seats, drawers for clothing, changing room and the most important, a large comfortable bed. The bed and mattress is in the main lid which folds open forward and is accessible from the interior via 2 low steps. No more tall ladders to climb up into bed. Volumes of space above the bed with plenty of window access to fresh air and a clear view outside.
The idea behind the Wakka is a trailer designed for "on the go" travelling with easy opening and closing and all the basic luxuries required to make your outdoor living one of comfort and pleasure. With remote opening and closing !! What more could you ask for!This is how the Wakka Wakka works?
On the road the Wakka is compact and stream lined for easy towing, even at high speeds. No flapping dusty tent covers and all possessions securely locked inside.
The weight distribution is well balanced with minimum weight on the tow hitch, combined with the fantastic suspension system gives one the feeling that the Wakka just glides behind the towing vehicle. A 2.5-3 L Turbo engine is required to comfortably tow the Wakka. It will fit in any garage for storage and easily managed for manoevering in to your camp position.
Once you have arrived at your destination and the Wakka is in position, follow the following easy steps.
Apply the hand brake, insert the 2 rear adjustable jacks and level the rear. Then adjust the front Jockey wheel to level it in its length and now you are ready to open your tent.
Swing open the rear kitchen unit and lock into position, open the rear door, remove the small step ladder and clip into position. Release the main lid clamps and allow enough slack on the winch strap to lift the lid until the gas struts take over. Then simply stand back and let the winch do the rest. Once the tent is open, walk around the base and hook the tent bottom flap over the trailer lid and box sides with the elastic cords provided. Insert the window cover stays or simply leave them rolled up.
The washing up aluminium work surface with basin and drying rack is attached to the rear of the trailer under the mixer tap which is already in place and you have a 5 star washing up area complete with hot water on tap. If it's a one night stop over and the weathers good then you are done and all this should take you is less than 10min.
To close the tent, make sure window stays are removed, unhook the bottom tent flap and then winch the lid closed by simply pushing the button.
If you require shade or protection over the kitchen area, the Wakka is provided with a rear canopy and 2 side panels which will convert the kitchen area into a sheltered space ideal for preparing great meals. The rear canopy can be left attached to the main tent when folding away. The rear canopy requires 3 tent poles. Additional side canopies are also available to create a large area under roof around the Wakka. All tent poles are aluminium and adjustable and stored in an aluminium tent pole storage box which is accessible with the lid open or closed.
The lid is equipped with a small roof rack which is ideal for loading wood and other items, it also makes a good base to strap kayaks or even bicycles. There is also the option of a large aluminium fold up camping table which stores below the roof rack. Bushwakka is currently developing an aluminium boat which will fit on top of the trailer lid for those camps next to water.
The main floor space inside the Wakka is accessible while closed via the back door and is ideal for storing chairs and other items you would like direct and quick access to.
The Wakka offers plenty of storage accessable from the outside via large aluminium doors, fridge access, storage drawers and a fully equipped kitchen unit with plenty of packing space for food and all basic condiments.
